Your card & getting started
- I received a card from Firemark with a wax seal; what is this?
- That means we reached out to you specially with a free audit! We probably think you'd be a great customer and could use our services. The card has a link with a QR code that goes to your report.
- I want a card; can you send me a card?
- No. Well maybe. I mean, go ahead and contact us and we can see. We don't mean to play coy, but it's a lot of work. If you've already signed up for our pro-tier or higher, then email us and we'll send one.
What Firemark does
- What kinds of businesses does Firemark help?
- Firemark can help anyone that has an online presence: Restaurants, dentists, lawyers, bars, florists, plumbers, electricians, congregations, coworking spaces, circuses... pretty much everyone. Some need integrations with specialty platforms. We are working on those every day.
- Can Firemark detect changes to my business data on all my platforms?
- Probably. We can't promise that we have *every* platform, but we have a huge list and it keeps growing. Any change is compared with data we know is accurate, and we report it to you and then fix it, if we are able. If it turns out that you made the change and you meant it to be different we can either update our info, or remember you want it different on that platform.
- What platforms does Firemark support?
- Firemark checks all the basic platforms like Google Business Profile, Yelp, Tripadvisor, Foursquare; these directly feed into Google Maps, Apple Maps, Bing, ChatGPT, Gemini, and many others. We also support all the big social media like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok, and Reddit. We check your website, and what comes up when someone searches for you, or asks an AI like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. We are adding new platforms every day. Check the services page for more details; there's a form to ask for a platform to be prioritized.
Updating & managing your platforms
- Does Firemark update all my platforms for me?
- Firemark can update a lot of platforms, but sometimes we can't sign in as you, or can't set up an account with privileges. In those cases, we unfortunately need you to update them yourself, but we give you step by step instructions, help guides, and can provide you with email or phone support. We can even zoom with you to do it.
- Can Firemark create my platform accounts and/or profiles for me?
- Yes! We can create accounts for a lot of platforms. Some platforms require you to set up an account, and some will not let us set anything up, but we can give you links and easy to follow guides. Creating accounts and platforms often takes a lot of time, which we have to charge for. This will be shown to you up-front. Check back soon, we are working on a "New Business" package that will magically set up pretty much everything you need for an online presence including a Google Business Profile and social media accounts with your first posts.
Marketing, reviews & menus
- Soon! We are working on a full social media suite that will help you generate, queue, and schedule posts to a multiple platforms at once. And a way to coordinate likes, comments, and posts from your supporters. Eventually a full marketing suite with campaigns, click tracking, goals and analysis.
- Soon! We are working on a package that will sync your menu with all of these. It's not a simple thing, because of differences between platforms, care needs to be taken to ensure menus are actually aligned with what you offer. We are making an intelligent process so you will have both AI agents and real human eyes analyzing the menus.
- Can Firemark automatically respond to reviews?
- Even better, Firemark gives you the ability to do it *fast*. Researchers have found that bad reviews with thoughtful responses from the owner are actually seen more positively by viewers rather than a business that has no bad reviews, which is seen as suspicious. There are a lot of companies out there that will give you AI generated review responses, but in our experience, it doesn't work well. We do something even better: we provide you with a tool that prioritizes the most important reviews to respond to all in one place. We give you a suggested response, and all you have to do is click a button to submit it. But you can also edit or replace the suggested response. This gives you full control, a simple experience, and most of all, lets you provide a human touch.

- We have a suite of state-of-the-art software tools and AI agents that we have developed over years to help us audit. This gives us a unique advantage, allowing us to find things that everyone else would miss. That said, if you can afford the hefty cost of a digital marketing agency, then by all means go for it! You can send them our reports to have the best of both worlds. If you want something more modest, sign up for our white-glove plan — you'll pay far less and still get amazing service.
- What makes you better than the hot new silicon valley startup, _______ ?
- When we looked at the existing solutions, we found them to be way too expensive, difficult to use, often quietly broken, and typically provide terrible, awful customer service. Worst of all, a lot of these guys trap your data so it's impossible to move to a different service. In the biz, we call it "vendor lock-in". It's something we swear never to do. Your data is your data.
- Are you a digital marketing service or a startup offering software as a service?
- All of our cards on the table: we are a sort of hybrid. We don't believe there should really be a separation at the end of the day. We are what you might call a "bootstrap" startup, meaning we haven't taken investment from outside investors or a venture capital firm. We plan to grow the business organically by (imagine it) selling a useful service. That includes an app, but it also includes a person to call.
- Why is it called Firemark?
- In the 1700s and 1800s, insurance companies placed metal plaques — fire marks — on the buildings they protected. When a fire broke out, firefighters looked for the mark to know whose building to save. It was a visible sign that somebody was watching out for a place. We liked that idea. Same city that burned down and rebuilt itself, same concept, new medium.
- Why do you have an FAQ right on your front page?
- AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini love FAQs — it's built into their very nature. FAQs are responses to questions that users might ask these chatbots themselves, so naturally they will understand FAQs very easily and they will repeat it to the user, and will rank your business more highly. As part of our audit, we check if the front page of your website has an FAQ for this very reason. We know what we're doing.
